Clayton Moore returned to the field against Noxubee County probably a little too early, if truth be known, but this past Friday he was healthy and it showed as he had a breakout game against previously unbeaten Aberdeen.

"My back is 100% now," added Clayton Moore. I was out for 3 games, and I was one miserable person watching from the sidelines, but now I am back 100%."

The 6' 2", 205 signal caller torched Aberdeen's defense for 284 yards of offense and 4 TD's in their 35-14 victory.

"The first week I came back, we played Noxubee County, and I had a rough night. The game went by so fast. Everybody was moving 100 miles an hour and my thought process was not working like normal. I was real rusty, both mentally and physically. I did not have a good game, but we faced another good team Friday in Aberdeen and everything went back to normal."

One of the plays against Aberdeen tested his back, as Clayton in normal fashion, ran through a defender instead of around him.

"I just go out there and play football. I am not going to start trying to protect my back. I would not play well if I did that. I am just glad to be out there. If I have to put my head down, I put my head down. That is just the way I play."

Moore's return to the field was not the only good news for the defending 3A champs, as Clayton's main playmaker came back after a 5 week layoff from an MCL injury.

"Man, when me and Dennis Thames ran out there on the field for the first time against Noxubee County, it felt so good. I play as good as Dennis plays, and not having him out there this year has been tough on me and our team. He is my crutch. We work so well together. He is just such a great player. Dennis had 4 TD's too. He caught all three of my TD passes and he ran one in too. When he is not on the field, I miss him. I am the leader on offense, and he is the leader on defense. They look for him to make plays and I do too."

Understandable, Louisville has not even reached its peak yet.

"We are not near where we could be. We have a lot of talent on our team. Different teams hit their stride at different points. Last year, we did not peak until the second playoff game. Dennis got injured, and he is not as fast as he was. Then I got hurt, I am not nearly as sharp as I was. When he gets his speed back, and I shake the rust off, we are going to take our play up another notch. We have a lot of younger guys who are getting better every day like our sophomore safety, Blake Cunningham. We also have a junior receiver names Markeith Tripplett. He is really/really good. I know Ole Miss likes him a lot. We just have not near hit our peak yet."

Moore was very impressed with a sophomore RB from Aberdeen.

"The only thing I know is that his last name is Love, and he might be the fastest player I have ever played against. He can fly, I mean fly. On one play, he broke out of a tackle, and we had four of five guys surrounding him with the angle, and he broke it for a long TD. And the thing is, when he got to the endzone, our nearest guy was at the 15 yard line, and they had a head start on him. I have never seen anyone as fast as that running back."

Although Clayton committed to Ole Miss early, several top notch programs continue to make contact to see if he is still solid.

"Oregon made contact and told me that my scholarship was still good, and they want me to come up there for an official visit, but I told them thanks but no thanks."

The 2007 Clarion Ledger All-State selection watched the Ole Miss/Alabama game as any fan would.

"When I first started watching it, they jumped out to a 24-3 lead. I was like, dang. I was not too excited about how the game was going. But during the interview at half-time that they had with Coach Nutt; they asked him what he was going to say to his team, and he said that he was going to tell them we got to keep playing. And lord and behold, they came back. You have to understand, I get real emotional when I am watching Ole Miss. I am usually not too fun to be around when I watch Ole Miss. That is why I like to watch the games by myself most of the time."

There has been some criticism from the media and fan base from the inconsistent play of their starting QB, Jevan Snead, but Moore does not agree.

"I think Snead has played great. I have been to all of the home games, and I watched the Wake Forest, Alabama and Florida game on TV. I have seen every snap he has played this year, and I have been impressed with him all year. A lot of people put him as the savior, like Eli (Manning). Although he might be a sophomore, he is just a freshman on the field. The Alabama game was only his 7th start as a college QB. You show me any QB who does not make mistakes when they are 7 games into their college career. I personally think Snead is doing about as well as any first year starter I have watched. I can't wait to get up there and learn everything I can from Jevan. I want to soak up everything I can possible learn from."
