Neptune Beach, FL, Wide Receiver Lamar Scruggs visited Ole Miss this weekend. How did it go for the…
Marlon Brown update -
As is usually the case with prospects who visit Ole Miss, it was all about the folks the 6-5, 205-pound playmaker met while on campus.
"The people there are amazing. Everyone is so friendly and they make you feel at home," he continued. "I liked that. I had a real good time."
Marlon came to Ole Miss Saturday morning to begin his official visit and did not leave until Monday morning, asking to stay over for the full time allowed on an official visit.
"I wanted more after I got comfortable," Brown noted.
That's the personal side of the visit, but what of the football side for the dynamic performer, wanted by everyone under the sun in collegiate football.
"The coaches showed me how I would fit into their plans. It all suited me and I think it matches my skills as a football player. I also met with Coach (Andy) Kennedy of the basketball team and he said he would welcome me if I wanted to try to play football and basketball."
His "use" on the football field would be multiple, he said.
"The coaches talked about using me all over the field - inside receiver, outside receiver, tailback. I like the thought of moving around and making plays from all over the field," he explained. "It is also important to me that Ole Miss has an established quarterback like Jevan Snead. That's a huge deal."
Brown will visit Florida this coming weekend and Tennessee the final recruiting weekend before signing day.
For now, Marlon is not tipping his hand, but he refuted the idea that location was a factor.
"Location of a school is not an issue with me. I'm just looking for the best fit - personally and on a football team," he closed. "Right now, Ole Miss is strong in that picture."
Brown was shown the ropes at Ole Miss by player hosts Markeith Summers and Lionel Breaux, both current wideouts on the squad.
