Rebels still looking at OT Jonathan Henderson
By

It's no secret that Ole Miss largest recruiting need is OL. The Rebels currently have one OL committed for the 2009 class and much more work is left to be done. As Ole Miss looks to anchor its line for the future a long list of candidates emerges. One of those candidates is Jonathan Henderson from Indianola Academy.
"I practice and sleep," stated
Jonathan Henderson
. "We've had two-a-days and my focus has been away from recruiting to be honest. It's going good but things have quieted down. I'm still getting quite a few letters. We have several scrimmages coming up and I'm ready to get started. Our OL is huge. We have two guys over 300lbs. We plan on running the ball quite a bit (laugh). "
There is no question that the 6'5" 250 pound OT has coaches interested after several solid camp performances.
"I went to camp at Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Central Arkansas and Louisiana Tech. I felt like I did great at all of them. In fact, I would say that I have improved my stock for all of those schools."
Did any of the camps lead to an offer for the talented OL?
"No, I don't have any offers. But several schools have stepped up there recruiting efforts. Louisiana Tech sends me a letter a day. Ole Miss is looking at me a lot more. I think Louisiana Tech and Ole Miss are both very close to offering. I think Ole Miss is the closest to offering and I think Louisiana Tech will offer sometime during the season."
How did the Ole Miss Camp go for Henderson?
"I didn't talk to the coaches much at camp. They were all over the place. I felt that Coach Markuson was impressed with me after drills. He got really excited and he made sure he pointed me out."
With two offers possibly looming over Henderson's season, does the talented OL look forward to proving himself?
"Yes, I'm ready to show everyone that I can play on the next level. I think Louisiana Tech and Ole Miss want to watch me play and see if I've made improvements. I understand that attending a private school may raise some questions. I know the talent level isn't as high. They want to look at that and I understand. These coaches have their jobs on the line. Evaluations are important. They want to make sure they get it right."
