"Camp
went well at Ole Miss," stated Charley Loeb. "I think I did ok. I didn't
do much testing. I think I did well in my throwing drills. It's tough when you
have new receivers. I still think I had a good velocity and good placement."
Did Loeb talk with any Ole Miss coaches?
"I spoke with
Coach Austin. He is a great guy. I've spoken with him on the phone before and
he's always really friendly. He was the same way at camp. After I threw my first
pass, he was all over me. Coach Nutt really liked my deep ball and said I had
great intangibles."
How did Ole Miss find the Massachusetts
standout?
"Danny Nutt called my ex-football coach in the winter.
No one was recruiting me at that time. After the Top Gun camp in Orlando, I got
Coach Austin's number from a friend. That led to me attending camp."
Who is currently recruiting Loeb?
"I have no offers
right now but Boston College is recruiting me the hardest. Ole Miss, UConn, Akron
and Virginia are also recruiting me."
What stood out about
Ole Miss during Loeb's visit?
"The IPF was incredible. I've
been a lot of places and that was at the top. I also love Coach Nutt. He's down
to earth and I could see myself playing for him."
What's next
for the talented QB?
"I'm supposed to call Ole Miss back in
the next couple of days. They already have one QB commitment and they are waiting
on another one. I think I'm next in line after that, hopefully they will offer.
I'm just going to wait and see. I'll know a lot more soon. I definitely want to
come back on an official visit this fall."
