Texas OT names Ole Miss as his leader

The 6' 6", 305 pound Lexington (TX) native is looking at his junior year as a learning experience.

"A lot of people were banged up last year", stated Michael Brown. "The last few years we've gone deep in the playoffs but last year we were one and done. We're ready to make things right and make another run in the playoffs this year."

It's that type of desire that has the attention of several colleges which have extended Brown and offer.

"I have offers from Arizona, Kansas, Baylor, Ole Miss, Houston, Tulane, and Illinois told me they sent me one in the mail."

Which schools are showing the talented offensive lineman the most interest?

"I would say that Baylor and Ole Miss are recruiting me the hardest."

What does Brown know about each school?

"I have a friend that plays at Baylor and he wants me to come over and tour the campus with him. I told him I probably would. I don't know much about them other than they're close to home."

"I just got back from an unofficial visit to Ole Miss. I liked everything about the school. I loved the Grove, the Walk of Champions, the Lyceum and the Indoor Practice Facility. While I was there they had the Fantasy Camp and the Women's Forum. I watched them both. They were having a really good time."

Several things caught the eye of the All-State Texas star.

"In Texas things aren't real clean. It's all pasture and you see a lot of trash on the road. I didn't see that in Mississippi. Mississippi was a clean state. I loved the scenery. There were magnolia and pine trees everywhere."

How did Scout.com's #75 rated OT fit in with the Ole Miss players?

"I met Jevan Snead and several other players. I felt like I fit in with them. The coaches brought them in during one of our meetings. They were nice guys."

What coaches did Brown meet with?

"I met with all the coaches but spent most of my time with Coaches Nutt and Markuson. Coach Markuson showed me a lot of film. We talked about their offense what types of drills I would run if I were I decided to go to school there. Coach Nutt told me not to rush a decision. He told me they would continue to recruit me hard. He said that if I wanted to commit that I could at any time."

Where does Ole Miss stand with Brown?

"Ole Miss is my leader. I wouldn't be surprised if I committed to them soon."
