New Ole Miss assistant makes contact

Dudley LaPorte (TE, Santa Barbara CC, CA) - Scout.com's highest rated junior college tight end prospect took in an official visit to Ole Miss two weekends back and left with a commitment in mind.

Since then the Rebels made a coaching change and one of the new coaches at Ole Miss made contact with Dudley a few minutes ago.

"Yea, one of the coaches that is going to Ole Miss that is at Arkansas right now just called me around 20 minutes ago," added Dudley LaPorte. "He told me that they are going to bring in Ole Miss' new staff sometime next week."

What did Dudley ask the Ole Miss coach?

"I did not ask him anything because I want Coach Nutt to tell me what type of offense they are going to run. That is my main question I have. I love it at Ole Miss. I fell in love with it on my visit. I know everything else there is to know about Ole Miss other than that."

LaPorte was close to making a commitment before the prior staff was let go; has anything changed?

"Ole Miss is still #1 on my list, but at the same time, I am going to listen to what the other colleges are saying. I want to see what everyone has to offer."

Any inhome visits?

"Syracuse is sending in an assistant later today, and San Diego State came by yesterday. I am probably going to check out Syracuse and UConn over the winter break. They want me to come in for an official visit."
