Bastrop (LA) Defensive Tackle LaMarcus Williams had a "great" visit to Ole Miss over the weekend, but he has not changed his commitment to Alabama - yet.

"I am still committed to Alabama, but Ole Miss is definitely in the hunt now," he said this morning on his way back to Bastrop with his high school DL Coach Carlos Holmes, who brought him to Oxford on his visit.

Rebel Coaches Ed Orgeron and Frank Wilson, LaMarcus said, will be coming to his home in Bastrop Wednesday for the in-home visit.

"In our meeting, Coach O and I really connected. I love his enthusiasm and energy. He's the kind of guy I could play for. He knows as much about DL play as anyone in the business and is known for developing defensive linemen to go to the next level," said the 6-1, 295-pounder.

Williams, who made All-State on a 15-0 Bastrop team that won the AAAAA State title this year, was hosted on his visit by sophomore WR Marshay Green.

"We are friends. He showed me a good time. And I learned what I wanted to learn about the academic situation," Williams continued. "Ole Miss has real good academics, which is important to me. It was a business trip and a fun trip all rolled into one."

Williams played beside Kentravis Aubrey on the Bastrop DL. Aubrey is committed to LSU. Williams committed to Alabama early, but a coaching change has since taken place, which cracked the door open for him to take a closer look at Ole Miss.

"I had a great time at Ole Miss. There's not much more to say. I have to get back home and think everything over," he closed. "It looks real good for Ole Miss at this point, but I have not changed my commitment from Alabama at this time."
