"99% sure I'll commit on my visit"

Alex Washington (OL, Monroe, LA) - The 6' 4", 315 pound Carroll High standout high school football career is now over, and it looks like he is going to take his show to the next level at the University of Mississippi.

"There really is no hold up (with me committing to Ole Miss)," commented Alex Washington. "I told Ole Miss I just wanted to talk to my mother, and we have been talking about it slowly. I wanted her to come on my official visit (December 3) with me to see it for herself. I am 99.9% sure I will commit on my visit."

Ole Miss asked Washington to give a verbal after he got back in from an unofficial visit for the GA/OM game; have they asked since?

"No, they have not asked me to commit. They are just waiting on me to make my decision. I told Coach Orgeron that I just wanted my mother to see the campus first, and he said that is all he needed to know. They have not been pressuring me since."

Washington just received some big news.

"I got back in my ACT score and I made a 17. I am a full qualifier now. I have a 2.8 Core GPA, so I am good to go."

Alex also received a few new scholarship offers.

"I have six offers now. I got one from ULM, Southern, Grambling, Jackson State, and North Carolina A&T."

Any additional schools still recruiting the young man?

"I have been getting a lot of calls from La Tech and N' Western. I still get a lot of mail from Colorado and USM. LSU has been writing me, but they have not been talking about a scholarship offer."

Washington's season is now over.

"We did not make it to the playoffs, but I still think I had a pretty good year. I had a 108 pancake blocks. I am a lot stronger now. My bench is up to 405. I am in basketball season now to keep my footwork up."
