Preston Williams updates his top schools

Preston Williams (DE, Memphis East, TN) - Preston had such a good showing at the Mississippi Scout combine that he was named as a 1st Team selection for the camp.

Williams consistently showed the best outside pass rushing ability out of all of the ends. He is very quick off of the ball but is a bit light in the britches, as he measured in at 6' 4", 205.

What are Preston's thoughts on being named to the All-Combine team?

"I am very proud of myself. I worked hard to improve from my sophomore year. I am proud to be recognized as one of the best at the combine. I am really in shock, to be honest."

What about the experience against competing against some of the Region's best?

"I have never been to a combine before. I met a lot of great players. When I was at end, I sat back and learned from the other ends to help my game. I think I really improved my game by just watching."

And what improvements were made?

"I just learned a lot of new techniques."

And what improvements will Williams have to make for the next level?

"I need to improve on my size, mainly. I know I am undersized for a defensive end. I need to improve on my quickness so I can counter my size."

Who was the toughest offensive linemen for Williams to face?

"It had to be that white kid, Michael (Antonescu) something. He pinned me down a couple of times."

Any phone calls this month from perspective colleges?

"Not yet. I did get a chance to talk to Memphis and Missouri when they came to our school this week."

Which colleges are being the most consistent in writing Williams?

"Auburn, Ole Miss, and Georgia Tech. I get at least two to three letters from them every week. I plan on going to Ole Miss and the Georgia Tech camps this summer."

Which colleges are now at the top of Preston's list?

"I really want to go to Ole Miss. They are my number one school. I have a few friends who play there, and it would be fun to play with them again. I also have Georgia Tech, Auburn, and Memphis up there."
