Louisiana Player of the Year inks with Rebs

Coach Andy Kennedy signed his third prospect as a Rebel coach today when the 4A Player of the Year out of Louisiana committed and signed with the University of Mississippi.

This past weekend, Rodney Jones took an official visit to Ole Miss and this morning he made it final when he signed his letter of intent with the University of Mississippi.

The 6-4, 190-pound guard from Peabody HS in Alexandria, LA, was a 1st-Team All-State selection and was the AAAA Player of the Year in Louisiana for the 2005-2005 season.

He led legendary Coach Charles Smith's team to 108 wins in his three years at Peabody, including a 41-0 record his sophomore year. As a senior Jones averaged 25 points and 10 rebounds.

Scouting reports indicate Jones can play the 1, 2 or 3 positions in college.
