Reggie Hicks reaffirms Ole Miss commitment
The following information was revealed during our interview with Reggie Hicks:
Did you visit Ole Miss over the weekend? "Yes I did."
Did anyone accompany you? "My mother and father."
How did they like Ole Miss? "They liked it a lot."
Who was your host? "Jason Cook. Jason is real cool. He showed me around. We had a lot of fun together."
Were there anymore recruits in this weekend? "No sir, I was the only one."
Did you like being the only recruit in town? "Yea, I really did. I got to spend a lot of one on one time with the coaches and players."
Was the visit better/worse/or about what you were expecting it to be? "A whole lot better, just a whole lot better. I got to meet all of the coaches. I also got to see Coaches Kehoe and Werner. My brother goes to Miami and his roommate plays for them, Quadtrine Hill, so I have known both coaches through my brother. They are real cool."
What else stood out during your visit? "All of the football players are real cool. The students knew my name. A bunch of students from my high school go to Ole Miss, so I know a lot of people there. The people in the community already knew me, which was pretty cool. There were just a bunch of strangers coming up to me telling me how glad they were to see me. It made me feel like the President or something. It was cool."
Thinking back on it, what did you enjoy the most during your trip? "The feeling I got when I got to the campus and being around their coaches. It felt at home. Coach Orgeron has been recruiting me since the start, and I feel like we have built that bond."
Did this reaffirm your decision? "Oh yea, most definitely"
What are in the plans for you next season? "He said I could play either RB or FB, just which ever position fits me the best. It is all up to me."
Have you been keeping up with Ole Miss' class? "Oh yea, it is awesome. What are we, number 7? Coach Orgeron told me he is going to have a big picture framed of his first recruiting class when we got up there. He said this was the first step to getting us to the Sugar Bowl. He said the football buzz was back in Oxford."
Reggie carries a 3.7 GPA / 21 ACT.
