Rory Johnson gives his verbal to Ole Miss

Rory Johnson (LB, Hinds CC, MS) - Mississippi's 2005 Juco Defensive Player of the Year committed to Ole Miss tonight.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Rory Johnson:

Where do you stand with your recruitment? "I committed to Ole Miss tonight."

Which coach did you commit to? "Coach Hughes."

What did he say to you? "He pretty much has been recruiting me for a long time. He coached my brother at Hinds CC, so we kind of had that bond. He has a plan to get me qualified."

Where do you stand academically? "I need two more Math and English courses to get out."

When do you expect to get that completed? "In June."

Why did you choose Ole Miss? "I always did like Ole Miss. I would have probably gone there after high school, but they fired their coaches, so I went with MSU. I should have signed with them the first time. They also stuck with me when my grades got messed up. A lot of schools kind of backed off, but Ole Miss stayed with me."

Will you take anymore official visits? "No sir, I am just going to Ole Miss on the (January) 20th. I will not be taking my MSU (1/27) )and LSU (1/13) visits."

Did you ever receive your stats from the season? "I had around 85 tackles in 5 games."
