Ricky Dixon

Ricky Dixon (WR, New Orleans, LA) - Scout.com's #36 nationally rated receiver received an inhome visit from Coaches Ed Orgeron and Frank Wilson last night. How did their visit go?

The following information was revealed during our interview with Ricky Dixon:

Have you started to receive your awards yet? "I was named Offensive Player of the Year by the Times Picayune. I was also named MVP for District 6(5A). I also got All-Metro, and I made the Blue Chip Team."

What were your stats for the season? "I think I had 23 catches for almost 400 yards and 13 TD's. I also rushed for 800 yards, and I passed for 1, 200 yards and 12 TD's. I only played QB for the last seven games. I played WR for the first three games."

Have you had any phone calls since the dead period ended? "They have been calling my cell phone non stop since Sunday. Ole Miss came by the crib last night."

Who came from Ole Miss? "Coaches Orgeron and Wilson."

What did they have to say? "We just talked about how life would be if I went there. I have known Coach Wilson since he was at O. Perry Walker, so we just kind of kicked it and talked about the boys. I do not know. It was no pressure or anything like that. That is what I like about Ole Miss. They do not pressure me into anything. We have a relationship outside of football."

Anymore coaches expected in your house this week? "The LSU coaches are coming by on Thursday, I think."

Have you lined up the rest of your official visits? "I am going to MSU (1/13), LSU (1/20), and I went to Ole Miss back in December (12/3)."

Who is coming after you the hardest? "LSU and Ole Miss. Both of them are pretty much equal. Those are my top schools."

What will be the main factors in your decision? "I do not know. Just where I have a chance to play the most, and who I feel the most comfortable around."

When did MSU start calling? "They came to the school. They have been talking to me. We talked about the visit at school right before the Christmas break."

What is the number one thing you like about LSU right now? "It is so close to home. I am familiar with a lot of their players. That is the advantage they have over everybody else. It is only 30 minutes from home."

How are your academics coming around? "I am waiting on my results from the last ACT test. My GPA should be at a 2.5. I am taking a lot of core classes next semester. I should get it up to a 2.7 by the time I graduate. I am retaking two classes that I made a C in right now. I am doing good. I should be fine."
