Emanuel Cook (S/RB, Palm Beach Gardens, FL) - One of Florida's elite prospects says he will visit North Carolina State, South Carolina and Minnesota before making his decision on where he will play college football. He has already visited Ole Miss and Rutgers and still has both of them "near the top" of his list.
Palm Beach Gardens HS star player, Emanuel Cook, is biding his time in making his college choice.
After being named Palm Beach County Player of the Year and leading Palm Beach Gardens to a 49-29 victory in the Florida AAAAAA State Championship with 243 yards rushing and 4 TDs against Deerfield Beach, Cook is simply "relaxing" during the holidays before the pursuit of his talents heats up again in January.
"I'm in no hurry," said Cook, a 5-9, 200-pounder. "I'm not leaning in any direction now. I'm happy with the choices I have, but I want to take all my visits before making my decision."
Emanuel Cook
, who prefers to be called "Cook," said he will visit North Carolina State on January 13th, then South Carolina and then, possibly, Minnesota.
"I haven't decided if I am going to take the Minnesota visit or not, but that's a possibility late in January," he noted.
Cook said his top four, in no order, are Ole Miss, Rutgers, NC State and USC.
"They are all recruiting me hard and all have something to offer. I liked Ole Miss' campus and the college town atmosphere. I also like the thought of playing in the SEC and the coaching staff was good to me," he explained. "At Rutgers, I liked the big city atmosphere and the coaching staff and they have a couple of players I know that made me feel comfortable."
Cook is looking hard at which school affords him the best opportunity to get on the field the quickest.
"I don't even care what position I play. I just want to play. Some schools believe I'll be a better linebacker, some say running back. I don't care. The only thing I care about is getting on the field in a hurry," he explained.
Even though recruiting is fickle and things change daily, Cook seems adamant about waiting before making a decision.
