Juco All-American commits to Rebels

Jason Hawkins (TE, San Bernardino Valley CC, CA) - The JC Gridwire JUCO All-American received an inhome visit from Coach Orgeron this morning and a commitment followed. Jason has announced that he will sign with the University of Mississippi on December 21st.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Jason Hawkins:

Are you any closer to a decision? "Well, Coach Orgeron just left my dorm room, and I went ahead and committed."

Why did you choose Ole Miss? "I have a good relationship with their coaches, and I just liked their university the best."

Will you take your Arizona State visit? "I do not think so."

Are you still undecided if you are going to take the visit? "Yea, I am not sure."

Did you discuss this with Coach Orgeron? "Yea, he told me just to not go."

And what did you tell him? "I told him I was not sure. I do have some stuff to get done with finals being a week away, so I probably will not go."

What made you decide to go ahead and pull the plug? "I always felt it, but I wanted to wait and see. But, they were always my number one choice. I can not see much more. I have been to Arizona State before. I have a friend there, so yea, I was ready."

Do you feel 100% sure of your decision? "Yea, I am done. I will sign with Ole Miss next Wednesday."
