The
following information was revealed during our interview with Milton Talbert:
What
were your stats for the season? "I do not know yet. Our coaches have not
given them to us yet."
Did you make it in for your scheduled official
visit to Ole Miss? "Yes sir. It was a good visit. I had a lot of fun."
Was
it better/worse/or about what you were expecting? "I had already been to
Ole Miss more than any school besides USM, so I had already seen everything. It
was just a lot nicer because they could feed and entertain me."
Did
anyone accompany you? "My parents came with me."
What did
they think of Ole Miss? "They loved it. They loved it, man. They enjoyed
everything about the visit."
Who was your host? "Garry Pack.
That's my boy. He was the only person that I really knew but he introduced me
around to a lot of people. I got to know Patrick Willis really good. I really
like Patrick a lot because he is so humble. I really could see myself playing
with him."
What new did you learn about Ole Miss during your trip?
"I did not know their academics was the highest in the SEC. They showed us
where they are graduating 85% of their players, which was 7th highest in the country.
That caught my attention."
What stood out the most? "I liked
the energy of the coaches and players. Coach Orgeron is a high energy guy. He
is like the energizer bunny. I like playing for coaches like him."
What
did you two discuss during your meeting? "I visited his home, and he told
me that he would love to have me, and I could play as a true freshman if I worked
hard and did all of the right things. They lost all of their starters on the DL,
so I would have a good opportunity to play if I went there."
Is that
attractive for you? "Yea, that is pretty attractive. Some schools have a
lot of returning sophomores and juniors on their line. Playing time is an important
factor for me. I would love to play next year. It does not matter if it is on
special teams or what ever, I just want to play."
Did coach Orgeron
ask you to commit? "No, he never asked. I have never been pressured like
that from any of the coaches so far."
None? "Not so far, not
yet, but I am not saying they will not (laugh)."
What would you have
said if Coach Orgeron would have asked you to commit? "I came up there with
an open mind. I was prepared if he did ask me, like I will be at all of the schools
I will visit. But, I have not even visited anyone else yet to compare Ole Miss
to. I am going to wait until I take all of my visits before I commit. I need to
compare what everybody has to offer."
Does it hurt Ole Miss with Coach
Luke leaving? "At first, he was gone and I was like, dang, but not really.
It is not going to have any effect. Tennessee has been recruiting me, so I will
still get a chance to talk to him."
Where does Ole Miss now stand
in your pecking order? "They have always been in my Top 3, but they impressed
me a lot. I like the position I would play there. They want me to be a pass rushing
specialist. I had to move to nose guard this year because my team needed me there,
but I really missed being a pass rusher. That is a big plus for Ole Miss."
Where
do you visit next? "I go to Alabama (12/9), USM (12/16), and MSU (1/27).
Tennessee, Memphis, LSU, and Auburn are talking to me about taking a visit. The
last visit will probably come from one of those four schools."
Have
all of these schools offered you? "All of them have but LSU, but they are
talking about it."
