Ole Miss improve its stock?

Derrick Odom (LB, Jackson, MS) - Scout.com's #25 nationally rated linebacker took an official visit to the University of Mississippi over the weekend.We called to see how his visit went.
The following information was revealed during our interview with
Did you make it in for your official visit?
Did you make it in for your official visit to Ole Miss? "Yes sir. I am driving home right now."
How did you like Ole Miss? "It went good."
Was it better, the same, or worse than what you were expecting? "It was better because of the people there. The social environment was a lot better than what I was expecting."
Did anyone accompany you on your trip? "My Uncle and mother came with me."
How did they like Ole Miss? "They liked it a lot. They liked their academic program and their relationship with the coaches."
What did you learn about Ole Miss during your trip? "New? Good question. Lets see. The town is a lot different. I thought it was flat out country but there is a lot to do. On your way up to Ole Miss, all you see is cows, but it is not like that at all. There is a lot to do in Oxford."
What stood out the most about Ole Miss during your trip? "How well me and
communicated and how much we are alike and how we bonded."
I take it P Willie was your host? "Yes sir."
Which recruits did you hang out with? "
, and some more people. I can not name them all."
Did you get a feeling to where they were leaning? "No sir, everybody was saying the same thing. That it is just their first visit. I will not know until I take my fifth visit. I need to evaluate every school thoroughly before I know for sure."
How did your meeting with Coach Orgeron go? "Great. We talked about everything you can think of, from football to life after football. I always have fun around Coach Orgeron. He makes everything fun and loose."
Did he ask you to commit? "No, he did not ask me to, but he really wants me. He basically told me that he needed me real badly."
Where does Ole Miss now stand in your pecking order? "Since this is my first real visit, I have nothing to compare Ole Miss to, but they are doing a good job. They are way up there."
Derrick carries a 2.7 GPA / 17 ACT.
Where do you go next? "I go to Alabama next weekend, TN (1/13), LSU (1/20), and USM (1/27).
