Commitment Update: Brandon Jackson

Brandon Jackson (LB, Memphis, TN) - We called to get a status on how Brandon's season is going and how solid he still is with his decision to attend the University of Mississippi next season.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Brandon Jackson:

How is your season going? "It is going pretty good. We are 3-2. I am averaging just over 10 tackles a game."

Give us a game by game blow. "Against Melrose, we lost by 14. I do not have any of my stats from that game. In our second game, we played McCalie. We loss that game too. Those two games were our only losses for the season. We beat St. George, Treadwell, and Father Ryan. I had an interception in our last game and ran it back for the winning touchdown. There was around 5 minutes left. They were driving and up by 6. I saw they were running a slant. I jumped in front of it and took off as hard as I could. It was pretty exciting to win the game for us."

How is your knee holding up? "At Ole Miss' camp, I tested it for the first time. I had just gotten released from the doctors to start playing. Now that I have been practicing. I feel like I am back to 100%. I have no limp. I tore my ACL, but I am all the way back."

Did you have surgery to repair the tear? "Yes sir, last Spring."

What improvements have you seen in your game? "I would have to say my speed and knowledge of the game. Last year was my second season playing middle linebacker, but now I have more knowledge."

Have you received any phone calls since the September contact period started? "Memphis, Vandy, and all of them have called. The same schools that have been calling. Ole Miss called last week. They came to my school and so did LSU."

Any new offers? "No sir, still just Ole Miss."

Are you still committed to Ole Miss? "Yes sir."

What did Ole Miss say to you the last time they called? "They just wanted to know how I was doing. How my season was going. How my knee was holding up. How my parents were doing. They basically just wanted to make sure everything was alright with me."

Have you set up your official visit with Ole Miss yet? "Not yet. I have not done that, but I will probably get that done when my season is over. I am going down there this weekend to see them play Wyoming though."

Will you just visit Ole Miss or do you plan to take some more visits? "I plan on taking some more visits."

Brandon carries a 2.85 GPA and a 20 on the ACT.
