Al Jones lines up three official visits
Any recent inhome visits? "Yea, Coaches Orgeron and Wilson (Ole Miss) just left. Yesterday, Coach C.J. (Miami) came by. Friday, Coach Nutt (Arkansas) is coming by the school."
What did Coach Orgeron have to say? "He told me he understood that he is coming after me late, but he was going to come after me all the way until the end. When we were at school, he just kind of introduced himself to me. Then when he came to my house, he told me what his plan was for me was."
What was your first impression of Coach Orgeron? "He is a real personable person. You can tell he loves what he does. We got down and showed me some techniques. I thought he was going to hit somebody in my living room (laugh). My dad was like, hey, I use to could take you down, but I am too old for that (laugh). He is a trip."
Did you get a chance to watch the USC game? "Yea, I saw Coach O jumping up and down in the tunnel before they ran out, and I told my dad right there, that is the kind of coach that can bring out the best in me."
Did this inhome visit by Coach Orgeron spark your interest in Ole Miss? "Yea, at first, it was like no interest. I was not worried about anyone besides Miami. But he came in and talked to me and was straight with me. Ole Miss is right up there with Miami and LSU now."
Did you have a prior relationship with the new Ole Miss running backs coach, Frank Wilson, before he was hired at Ole Miss? "Yea, I have known Coach Frank for a while. He helpsa lot of us from New Orleans. He is a big part of my interest in Ole Miss."
Have you lined up your official visits? "Yea, I will be at LSU (1/14), Ole Miss (1/21), and Miami (1/28)."
Is anyone trying to get you to visit this weekend? "Yea, I am sure Arkansas will try and get me to visit, but I do not have any interest in them."
Your top schools are? "LSU, Ole Miss, and Miami."
But you are still committed to LSU? "They are the front runner. I would say there is a 30% chance I will sign somewhere else, but I am still committed."
Will you play in the Army All-American game? "I still have a bad toe, so I am not playing in any games until next fall."
Al carries a 2.8 GPA and a 18 on the ACT.
