Jonathan Garner names two leaders
The following information was revealed during our interview with Jonathan Garner:
How did your season go this year? "We went 10-3. We should have won the first game. We made it to the State Semifinals. We won it last year, but came up just short this season. In the semifinal game, I threw a 37 yard TD on the first series, and then I got put out of the game. I messed up a tendon in my right elbow, but I am back to a 100% now."
What were your stats for the year? "I was 122-220 for 1,940 yards. I had 25 TD's and 4 interceptions."
Any awards? "I am playing in the CA/FL All-Star game Saturday. I was Player of the Year in our Area, and the QB Club also named me their Player of the Year. All-State comes out next week."
Did you decommit from Florida? "Yes sir."
Have you had a chance to set up your visits? "I will visit Louisville (1/7), Georgia Tech (1/14), Ole Miss (1/21) and either North Carolina State of Maryland on January 28th."
Have you had any inhome visits? "Michigan came in and had a QB commit to them the next week. South Carolina, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Louisville, and North Carolina have been by the school."
Are you leaning towards Georgia Tech? "Right now, I am leaning to Georgia Tech and Ole Miss, but I am not going to make a decision until after I take all of my visits."
What do you like about Georgia Tech? "It is close to home. Atlanta is a good town. I really like their coaches and players."
What attracts you to Ole Miss? "I use to live in Southaven (MS). Our family knows a lot of people in that area. I have always liked Ole Miss. They were one of my top schools before I committed to Florida. I like the offense they are bringing in. I talked to Coach Orgeron when he was hired the first day. He is going to bring USC's offense to Ole Miss."
When was the last time Ole Miss was in contact with you? "Coach Luke contacted me last week."
Jonathan carries a 4.2 GPA / 1120 SAT.
