(WR, Memphis, TN) - Whitehaven is a traditional running program, but this year, they produced one of the better wide outs in the city of Memphis.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Michael Cannon:

What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 5' 10", 175, and I run a 4.45 forty."

Which position are you being recruited to play on the next level? "Wide receiver."

What are your strengths on the field? "Just knowing how to read the defensive converges. I play cornerback too, so I know where the holes and gaps are."

What are you working on for the next level? "My speed, and I want to get more toned and more muscles so I can get ready for the next level. I would also like to develop better wok habits for the next level."

Attend any camps this summer? "I went to the MSL Combine and the Vandy, Memphis and (Mississippi) State camps."

Fastest recorded 40 time at the camps? "4.41."

Slowest 40 time? "I ran a 4.5 at the Memphis camp."

How long have you been starting for Whitehaven? "Since my 10th grade year."

Position played during this time frame? "All at WR, and I started playing some DB last year too."

Awards during this time frame? "I made All-Region at WR my sophomore year. Last year, I had an injury and it kept me out of the last 7 games. This year, I was named All-Region again. That is the only award that has come out yet."

What were your stats this year? "I had 38 catches for 780 yards and 10 TD's."

Which schools have called you in the past week? "Ole Miss, Vandy, MSU, Memphis, Arkansas State, and Middle Tennessee State University."

Have you lined up any official visits? "I go to Ole Miss on January 21st and Arkansas State on January 14th."

Any offers? "Arkansas State has."

What do you like about Ole Miss? "I talked to them about the weight lifting program. I like the fact that it is in the SEC and it is only an hour from home. I could come home when ever I needed to."

What do you like about Memphis? "I like that it is my home town. I would have no problem with my family seeing me play. I have a good relationship with Coach Randy Fichetner too."

And Vandy? "I really liked them when I went to their camp. It seemed like a good environment. I got to meet a lot of their players at the camp. We got to talk to them while we were doing our 1 on 1's."

What attracts you to MSU? "I also liked it down there when I was at the their camp. Their coaches seem really nice."

What will be the factors when it comes decision time? "Well, I am basically looking for a good environment. I do not want to be real close to home, but not too far in case of an emergency. I am also looking for a good accounting program."

Michael carries a 2.75 GPA and an 18 on the ACT.
