The following information was revealed during our interview with
Nolan Carroll
:
What is your current height, weight, and forty time? "I am 6' 1", 185, and I run a 4.31 forty."
Which position are you being recruited to play on the next level? "Wide receiver."
What are your strengths on the field? "Most guys play me man up, and they do not know what I am capable of. My speed gives me the advantage and my body strength too."
What do you max out with your bench and squat? "I bench 275 and squat 400."
What are your working on for the next level? "My size. I want to get up to 205. I will start on that in the winter. I also want to be more cut and just bigger in general."
Attend any camps last summer? "I went to the Nike camp in Atlanta. I also went to the
Miami
(Sr),
Central Florida
(Passing), and
South Florida
(SR) camps."
What was your fastest time at the camps? "A 4.31. I ran that at the Miami camp."
Slowest time? "I ran a 4.5 at the South Florida camp. It was wet and I was stiff."
How long have you been starting for Clay (3A)? "Since my sophomore year."
Positions played during this time frame? "I played wingback my sophomore year, but I decided to move to WR in the middle of the year."
Stats for the season? "I had 11 TD's and that is all that I remember."
Your junior season? "I played wide receiver. I also had 11 TD's that year too."
Did you garner any awards? "I was named to the Preseason Super 11 Team for Jacksonville and Clay County."
This year? "I am not sure what my stats are. I have got to see the guys with the stats. I think I have 7 TD's and somewhere around 450 receiving yards."
Have you set up your official visits? "Yes sir, I go to
UCF (12/3),
Purdue
(12/10),
Maryland
(12/17),
Louisville
(1/3),
Ole Miss
(1/10)
."
Has each of these schools offered you a scholarship? "Yes sir."
Anymore offers besides these five schools? "Yes sir,
Auburn
,
Syracuse
,
Indiana
,
East Carolina
, and
Connecticut
have offered me too."
What do you like about Ole Miss right now? "The fact that my friend,
Charles Clark
, goes there. He has told me some good things about Ole Miss. He pretty much took me under his wings when I was a sophomore. He would do the same thing at Ole Miss."
What do you like about Louisville? "
Terrance Butler
goes there too. I also like Coach Petrina. I like how their offensive gets everybody involved."
What attracts you to Maryland? "I like the location and Coach Freeman. He has an offensive mind. They spread the ball out. Although they are not doing too well this year, I see some things I like."
What about Purdue? "Kind of the same thing as Ole Miss and Louisville. I have
Clifford Avril
there."
What are Central Florida's positives? "
Curtis Francis
, another one of those players from here, goes there. They have a new staff, and they are trying to make it better. I see a progression even though they are not doing too well. That is what I like about them."
What will be the factors when it comes decision time? "Just how well I will fit in their offense. I want to contribute as a freshman. And that comfort zone while I am on my visit. I just want to be comfortable around their people and staff."
Nolan carries a 82.9 GPA and a 17 on the ACT.
