The following information was revealed during our interview with
Lance Lynn:
Did you make it in for your official visit to Tennessee this past weekend?
"Yea, I went. I had a good time. It was a good SEC experience, but I decided
tomorrow I am going to sign with Ole Miss."
Why did you choose Ole Miss? "I got along with their coaches better, to
tell you the truth. I had a better vibe with Coaches Bianco, McDonnell, and
Lake. They made me feel that it would be a great fit for me, and a great home
for the next 3 to 4 years."
Who came in second? "I would probably have to say Tennessee."
What are your personal goals for your senior season? "Well, we have been
runner ups for the last two years. I want to get that Blue ring. I also want
to make a good run for Mr. Baseball and carry my team as far as I can."
Mike projects as a full qualifier.
Baseball Commitment
The good news does not stop here, as Mississippi's top rated juco pitcher, Craig
Rodriguez, has made his commitment to Ole Miss public.
Craig is a 6' 4", 200 pound left handed pitcher who preps at Pear River
CC. He is a draft and follow prospect for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. If you remember,
Tampa Bay inked Ole Miss signee, Rhyne Hughes, late last summer. Lets just say
that the Rebels owe them one!
Both of Craig's parents graduated from Southern Mississippi, so this usually
bodes well for the college that is trying to "recruit" against the
Major Leagues.
Last season, Craig pitched a complete game against Meridian CC for the State
Championship last season. Rodriguez will be Pearl River CC's ace this year.

Signing Day Tidbits
Unlike football, baseball players sign their letter of intents and mail them
to the schools, instead of faxing them. Therefore, you will not see the release
of the signatures until the University has received them. Sometimes it takes
up until weeks before any formal announcement has been made.
