The following information was revealed during our interview with Heath
Stevens:
What is your current height and weight? "I am 6' 1", 175."
Which positions do you currently play? "I play SS and I pitch."
Which side do you throw and bat from? "I throw and bat from the right side."
Which position are you being recruited to play on the next level? "Really,
both. They want me to be a dual player."
What are your strengths on the field? "Just being a team player. Knowing
what is going on at all times. I expect the ball when it counts. I know what
is going to happen. I have a lot of confidence in myself. I know I am going
to succeed."
What are you currently working on to improve your game? "I guess not showing
as much as emotion. Just trying to keep my emotions in check."
Which pitches do you throw? "I throw a fastball, curveball, and change
up and a slider.
What is your best pitch? "Slider."
How hard do you throw your fastball? "I average between 86 to 88 mph."
What were your stats from your junior season? "I went 7 - 3 with a 3.0
ERA."
What were your batting stats? "I hit .425, with 4 HR's and 33 RBI's, something
like that."
Which awards did you receive for your play? "We do not give out any team
awards.
Which schools are currently recruiting you the hardest? "Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Mississippi, and Alabama."
Which schools are at the
top of your list? "I like them all, really. I like all of the camps. I
like Ole Miss' just a little bit more."
Which camps have you attended so far? "I have been to MSU. I went to a
USM camp, and I will probably go to Alabama in August."
What is your current GPA and ACT score? "I got a 20 on my ACT, and I have
somewhere around a 3.0 GPA."
