The following stats and awards were compiled through May 31st:
Tommy Baumgardner (LHP, Indian River CC, FL) - The 6' 3", 230 pound
left handed pitcher out of Lakeland (FL) had an All-Star campaign for one of
the top juco programs in the country.
For the season, Tommy went 8 - 1 with 70 strikeouts, 18 walks, 67 hits, and
18 earned runs in 81 innings of work. Baumgardner carried a 1.99 ERA which was
the 4th best ERA in the State of Florida.
Baumgardner was named 1st Team All-State for his performances.
Baumgardner graduated this past month and is a full qualifier.
Brett Buckvich (LHP/Inf, N' West Rankin, MS) - The Metro Player of the Year
(Clarion Ledger) led his team to the State 5A Finals for the second consecutive
season.
For the year, Brett went 9 -0 with a 1.29 ERA. He also struck out 94 batters
in 65 2/3 innings.
At the plate, Buckvich averaged .398 at the plate. He collected 9 doubles, 6
HR's, 38 scored runs, and 30 RBI's for the season.
Brett was a 1st Team All-State selection on both the Coaches and Clarion
Ledger teams.
Buckvich is a full qualifier and is expected to be a two way player at Ole Miss,
as he will both pitch and play in the field.

Jeremy Catoire (LHP, LaPlace, LA) - The 5' 10", 185 pound right
handed pitcher helped lead LaPlace to the Class 3A State Championship series this past year.
For the season, Catoire went 9 - 3 with a 1.07 ERA. Jeremy accounted for 148
strikeouts and 23 walks in 72 innings of work. He also totaled 7 complete games
for the year.
This was good enough to earn 1st Team All-District, All-River Parish, All-Metro,
and All-State for his performances on the field.
As a junior, Jeremy was 9 - 0 with a 1.07 ERA. He accounted for 107 strikeouts
and 15 walks in 57 innings of action. This was good enough to earn All-River
Parish and All-District.
Jeremy is a full qualifier and will report to Ole Miss in July.

Justin Cryer (RHP, Leesville, LA) - The 6' 2", 230 pound flame thrower
from Leesville (LA), who's fastball regularly visits the Mid-90's, turned in another
solid season.
For the year, Justin went 6 - 2 with a .094 ERA. Cryer faced 239 batters on
the season. He struck out 95, walked 21, and they collectively hit .112 against
the repeat 1st Team All-State (coaches) selection.
Justin also had 5 complete games in 59 innings of work.
Cryer was named 1st Team All-State and All-District for his play. Justin was
selected to the Louisiana All-star classic.
Justin is a full qualifier. He will report to Ole Miss in August, after he completes
his summer league duties.

Zach Cozart (SS, Collierville, TN) - The 6' 0", 175 pound shortstop
helped Collierville to the Class 5A State Championship series this past season. The
Dragons finished their season with a 34 - 9 record.
For the year, Zach batted .459.
In 98 at bats, he collected 45 hits, 16 doubles, 3 triples, 2 HR's, 38 RBI's,
13 walks, and 3 strikeouts.
At shortstop, Zach had a total of 5 errors.
Cozart was named the District and Region MVP for his performances on the field.
Zach was also a 1st Team All-State and Commercial Appeal selection.
Cozart is a full qualifier.

C. J. Ketchum (Inf, Crowder, MO) - listed as 6' 3", 205. Ketchum
bats and throws from the right side.
The right-handed batting Ketchum averaged .392 with 4 HR's and 51 runs batted
in this spring at Crowder.
CJ is a former All-State selection out of Joplin (MO), and he will have 3 years
to play 3.
Chris Moffett (RHP, Meridian, MS) - After coming off of Tommy John's
surgery last year, Chris has regained his arm strength.
The 220 pound right handed pitcher is consistently throwing it in the 88- 90
MPH range, which is what he was throwing prior to the injury.
Chris is Meridian's # 2 man in their rotation. He is currently 4 - 1 with a
4.62 ERA in 7 starts. In 23.1 innings of action, Chris has 28 strikeouts and
9 walks.
Van Pope (Inf, Meridian CC, MS) - Baseball America's Pre-Season
National Player of the Year helped lead Meridian CC to the Division 1 Word Series
this past season.
He is hitting .420 with 15 doubles, 2 triples and 10 home runs. Pope has stolen
7 bases on the year. Van is also Meridian's closer, as he has 4 saves with a
3.00 ERA.
Van is a finalist for the National Juco Player of the Year
Pope will be a two way player at Ole Miss, as he will play in the field and
come out of the bullpen. Van is a full qualifier.
Van has signed with the Atlanta Braves.
Chris Rayborn (RHP, Meridian CC, MS) - Baseball America's Preseason 1st
Team All-American, and Meridian's ace, is having another banner season. For
the year, he is 9 - 0.
Rayborn has a 1.667 ERA and has allowed 10 earned runs in 54 innings of play.
Chris has 62 strikeouts and 12 walks on the season.
Chris is a full qualifier but has opted to sign with
the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
Stoney Stone (RHP, Texarkana, TX) - The 6' 5"
two time draftee out of Ruston, LA is currently 3 - 2 with a 9.097 ERA in 8
starts.
Stoney has pitched in 30.2 innings. During that time frame, he has given up
31 earned runs, 45 hits, 22 walks, and 25 strikeouts.
Stone's fastball regularly visits the low 90's.
Stoney is a full qualifier as he graduated from Texarkana last month.

Rhyne Hughes (OF, Pearl River CC, MS) - Baseball America's Preseason
All-American selection led the Juco Division 11 in HR's (18) and placed 3rd
in RBI's (70).
In 171 at bats, Rhyne had 69 hits, 18 doubles, 18 HR's, 3 triples, 65 scored
runs, 70 RBI's, and a .405 batting average.
Pearl River won the State Championship over Meridian and Hughes hit 2 HR's in
that game.
Hughes is a Finalist for the National Juco Player of the Year.
Rhyne is a full qualifier and has graduated from Pearl River CC.
Hughes has opted to not sign a MLB contract, and he will attend the University
of Mississippi next year.
Logan Power (OF, Hillcrrest Christian, MS) - The 1st Team All-State and
Dandy Dozen selection (Clarion Ledger) had another solid season for Hillcrest
Christian.
For the year, Logan batted .418 with 12 doubles, 7 HR's, and 38 RBI's. He
had a .528 on base percentage and carried a .776 slugging percentage.
As a junior, Power hit .418 with 15 doubles, 3 triples, and 4 HR's.
Jo Jo Tann (2B, Jackson Prep, MS) - The 1st Team All-State and Dandy
Dozen pick (Clarion Ledger) helped Jackson Prep win its 2nd consecutive
AAA title this season.
For the year, Jo Jo batted .620 with 23 doubles, 41 runs, and 34 stolen bases.
Tann posted a .870 slugging percentage and had a .704 on base percentage.
As a junior, Jo Jo hit .469 with 38 runs and 33 stolen bases.
Tann is a full qualifier.
Cody Overbeck (Inf, Munford, TN) - Listed as 6' 0" 185 and throws
and bats from the right side.
Cody had the second highest batting average (.500), most hits, third most RBI's,
third most runs scored, most HR's, and most total bases in the state of Tennessee
during post season play.
