Final Visits
Its the final visit weekend. The final chance for colleges to host
elite prospects. The final on-campus pitch and chance to woo those final
recruits.
And all eyes out West will be on Tuscaloosa, where Auburn (Calif.) Placer
defensive tackle Eddie Vanderdoes will take his fifth, and final visit, to
Alabama, seeing the BCS National Champions, a week after he visited Notre Dame,
their opponent in South Beach.
Vanderdoes, the lone uncommitted five-star prospect yet to make a decision,
will announce where he's headed on Wednesday after taking the visit to Alabama.
But he's not the only big visitor left.
Utah will be hosting Redlands (Calif.) East Valley four-star defensive end
Kylie Fitts, the top defensive end in the West, who is doing his fifth and final
official visit before he makes his decision early Wednesday morning at his
school.
Washington will have San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln twins Tyrell Robinson and
Tyree Robinson on campus for their last official visits. The Robinson
twins have been committed to Oregon since the fall, but the Huskies will have
one final shot to impress them and convince them to flip. Harbor City
(Calif.) Narbonne linebacker Keishawn Bierria is also visiting Washington and
he'll announce his decision on Wednesday afternoon on Fox Sports West.
Fresno State will be trying to flip a four-star themselves, Washington commit
Lavon Coleman, a running back out of Lompoc (Calif.).
Oregon has a pair of commits to other schools, Wilsonville (Ore.) linebacker
Johnny Ragin III, a commit to Cal and running back Kani Benoit from
Phoenix (Ariz.) Thunderbird, a commit to UNLV.
Other notable visitors from the West include Valencia (Calif.) safety Tedric Thompson, who will also announce his decision on Fox Sports West on Signing Day,
tripping to Minnesota, where his brother plays, Long Beach (Calif.) Poly safety
David Price visiting San Jose State and Los Angeles (Calif.) Pierce linebacker
Matthew Lyons visiting Southern Mississippi.
Scout 300 Prospects Left
Most of the West's top prospects for 2013 have made their decisions, but a
few have to make commitments while a few more committed prospects have to either
firm up their verbals or go a different direction.
Vanderdoes is the big fish out West, and he's likely the last player to make
his choice. The five-star will publicly commit at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at a
ceremony at his school. Vanderdoes is expected to choose from between
Alabama, Notre Dame, UCLA, USC and Washington.
Fitts' decision will come at 7 a.m. on Wednesday morning, the four-star
choosing from Notre Dame, UCLA, USC, Utah and Washington.
Honolulu (Hawaii) Punahou linebacker Isaac Savaiinaea will also announce on
Wednesday morning, early in Hawaii, choosing from Texas
A&M and UCLA.
Bellevue (Wash.) linebacker Myles Jack said on Monday night that he's solid
to UCLA after a weekend visit to Washington, and cancelled a scheduled trip to
Florida State this weekend, but this one will be over when the fax is in on
Wednesday.
The Robinson twins will have to make their final choice on Wednesday morning
after the Oregon verbals visit Washington this weekend.
Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco offensive tackle Nico Falah says he's torn
between Washington and USC, where he's been committed since summer, and he'll
make his final decision on Wednesday. Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe
offensive tackle Kenny Lacy will make his final choice on Monday between
Arkansas and UCLA, where he committed in September.
Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian linebacker Cameron Judge will decide
on the Fox Sports West Signing Day Show on Wednesday, choosing between Arizona State and UCLA, where he committed in summer.
Fresno (Calif.) Central cornerback L.J. Moore will choose on Signing Day too
at his school in the morning from Arizona State, Cal, Oklahoma and Oregon State.
San Diego (Calif.) Horizon receiver Darren Carrington, a longtime Oregon
commit, has visited Arizona and Arizona State as well, though he cancelled a
trip to Ohio State, and he'll make his final decision this week.
Corona (Calif.) Centennial offensive lineman Cameron Hunt will also make his
final decision on Wednesday, between Oregon and Cal, where he's been committed
since July.
