Four signal callers headline the East squad led by Elite 11 MVP Asiantii Woulard (Winter Park, Fla.). This former South Florida commitment is joined by Jeremy Johnson (Montgomery, Ala./Carver), Johnathan McCrary (Ellenwood, Ga./Cedar Grove), and Ryan Burns (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge). They have three things in common; all have great size, big arms and are very athletic in the pocket. Woulard, McCrary, Burns and Johnson are all raw but each have tremendous upside.
The East has a star-studded running back group led by two Derrick; Derrick Green (Richmond, Va./Hermitage) and
Derrick Henry (Yulee, Fla.). Green is the nation’s No. 2 ranked running back prospect while Henry finished his high school career as the career all-time leading rusher. Both have great size. Notre Dame bound Greg Bryant (Delray Beach, Fla./American Heritage) reminds many of Trent Richardson at the same stage. Taquan Mizell (Virginia Beach, Va./Bayside) is undecided while Tyren Jones (Marietta, Ga./Walton) is a beast from the Peach State that’s headed to Tuscaloosa. This is an exceptional group. Lets hope they get their share of touches. Sometimes that’s difficult to do in an all-star game.
Wide receiver/tight end
This is a pretty large and very talented wide receiver corps. Ahmad Fulwood (Jacksonville, Fla./Bishop Kenny) is 6-foot-4 and can make plays down the field. So can Tony Stevens (Orlando, Fla./Evans), who may be the top deep threat from the south. Demarcus Robinson (Fort Valley, Ga./Peach County) is underrated while there are teams like Ohio State and Louisville waiting on a decision from James Quick (Louisville, Ky./Trinity). Marquez North (Charlotte, N.C./Mallard Creek), Shelton Gibson (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) and Tyler Boyd (Clairton, Pa.) are all big time recruits that have yet to make their commitments.
The East have two tight ends on their roster in Jake Butt (Pickertington, Ohio/North Pickerington) and
Matt Burke (West Palm Beach, Fla./Cardinal Newman). Butt is headed to Michigan while Burke has not made his decision yet.
Five-star prospect Laremy Tunsil (Lake City, Fla./Columbia) anchors the East in the trenches. The nation’s top rated offensive line prospect is your prototype offensive tackle. John Montelus (Everett, Mass.) and Brandon Kublanow (Marietta, Ga./Walton) are both likely guards who are nasty at times while future Trojan Khaliel Rodgers (Elkton, Md./Tri-State Christian Academy) will man the center position. Austin Golson (Prattville, Ala.), Brendan Mahon (Randolph, N.J.), Christian Morris (Memphis, Tenn./East) and
Evan Lisle (Centerville, Ohio) are all tackle prospects.
