**Derrick Jones and Eupora defeated Calhoun City 35-13 in
the quarterfinals last Friday to move their record to 12-1. The 6' 3",
185-pound receiver/defensive back 3 touchdowns in the game and also had a pick
for a score.
This season Jones has 42 catches for 908 yards and thirteen touchdowns. He has
also chipped in a 95-yard kickoff, 55-yard punt return, 70-yard punt return,
and a 85-yard punt return for touchdowns. jones on defense has 51 tackles and
six interceptions

**Ole Miss commits CB Zach Witchett and Quadarius
Mireles finished their season with a victory over Pearl River CC last
week. Mireles out of Boynton Beach, Fla.., was the workhorse
for the Eagles all night, carrying the rock 21 times for 111 yards.This brought
his season total to 38 receptions for 385 yards and four touchdowns. He also
had 47 rushes for 249 yards and two touchdowns
Georgia native Zach Witchett sat out the last five games of
the season with injuries. He finished the season with 12 solo tackles and four
batted-down balls in four games of action this season.
Q Mireles is expected to be in town for Saturday's match-up between OM/Vandy
**Ole Miss commit DT Herbert Moore finished his high school
career last Thursday with a 23-0 loss to Memphis Whitehaven. Big "Herb"
as he is called by teammates and friends had eight tackles with two of them
coming for losses. The 6' 2", 320-pound defensive tackle finished the season
with 54 tackles, 13 tackles for losses, four sacks, one batted-down ball, four
fumble recoveries, and one defensive touchdown.
Scout.com's No. 66 rated defensive tackle had 46 tackles and eight sacks as
a junior.
**Carver (LA) and RB Eugene Brazley Carter defeated Catholic
in the second round of the playoffs to run their record to 8-3.
Scout.com's No. 72 rated tailback has 128 carries for 1, 320 yards and fifteen
touchdowns. Brazley also has 25 receptions for 479 yards and three touchdowns.
Last season Brazley was one of the top play makers in the Big Easy as he had
over 1,800 yards of offense and 24 TDs.
Carver faces Evangel Christian Academy in the third round of the playoffs tonight.
**Jackson Prep defeated Jackson Aca 34-10 to win the State
Championship the Friday before last. The four-star QB had 120 passing yards
and two touchdowns in the contest.
Ryan Buchanan finished the season 85-151 for 1,468 yards and 22 touchdowns.
He has also rushed for over 200 yards.
**WR Dannon Cavil and Madison (TX) won their opening round
of the playoffs last Friday against Wagner 37-21. Dannon had 4 receptions for
52 yards and a touchdown.
The 6' 4", 210-pound receiver now has 28 catches for
606 yards and 7 TDs for the season.
Madison faces East Central tonight in the second round of the playoffs.
**Byhalia (MS) and OT Davion Johnson lost to Cleveland Eastside
6-5 in the state semifinals. They finished their season at 9-4.
The Dandy Dozen offensive tackle totaled 108 pancake blocks
this season.
Last season the 6' 5", 325-pound left tackle was named first team All-State.
**Colquitt County (GA) and WR/CB Bobby Hill beat McEachern
30-28 last Friday in the opening round of the playoffs. The Ole Miss commit
had a big game as he hauled in 5 catches for 118 yards and a touchdown.
He now has 72 catches for 980 yards and seven touchdowns this season.
Colquitt County faces Newman tonight in the second round of the playoffs.
**LB Rashawn Smith and Florence (AL) lost to Huntsville in
the opening round of the playoffs. The Ole Miss commit had 11tackles and a sack
on the night.
Scout.com's #108 rated outside linebacker finished the season with 106 tackles
and over 250 rushing yards.
Smith was selected to the MS/AL All-Star game in December.
**Four-star TE Christian Morgan and Prestonwood Christian
defeated Concordia Lutheran 49-7 in the opening round of the playoffs last Friday.
Morgan had his biggest game of the season as he had 7 receptions for 137 yards
and two touchdowns in the contest
The country's No. 12 rated tight end now has 31 catches for 438 yards and four
touchdowns this season.
Prestonwood faces St. Michael's tonight in the second round of the playoffs
**Nickolas Brassell and East MS CC suffered
a season ending loss to Co Linn 47-46 in stunning form as they had a kickoff
returned on them with 9 seconds left. Brassell had his biggest game of the year
with 12 receptions for 185 yards. This brings his season total to 48 receptions
for 663 yards and six TDs.
