'Q' Will Be A Rebel

Quadarias 'Q' Mireles

Quadarias Mireles signed with Ole Miss in 2010, but the Florida speedster was sidetracked by some academic issues. They are cleared up now and he will be a mid-year signee with the Rebels next in December.

'Q' said there was never any doubt where he wanted to spend his collegiate career, even with a coaching change since his initial signing in 2010.

"Ole Miss has always felt like home to me. I like the new coaches a lot and I am comfortable at Ole Miss and in Oxford," said the 5-11, 185-pounder with 4.35 40 speed. "Ole Miss is just where I want to finish my college career."

After being turned down for eligibility after signing in 2010, Q packed his bags and went to Hinds Community College.

In 2011, his freshman season, he caught 45 passes for 700 yards and had 10 carries for 110 yards. He scored five TDs.

The Boynton Beach (FL) product will play at Hinds next season but he is on track to graduate in December, sign with Ole Miss and be in Oxford for second semester - and spring training - of 2013.

He will have three years to play two at Ole Miss.

Q's gift is speed, among other things.

"I have been blessed with excellent speed and agility," said the soft-spoken Mireles. "I have the ability to get open, I have good hands and I can break tackles.

"To excel on the next level, I will need to hit the weight room hard and get stronger. That's one reason I am really glad I will be getting there for the spring semester - so I can get stronger before the 2013 season."

Mireles has been pretty popular on the recruiting circuit. He's received offers from Oklahoma State and Purdue and believes Arkansas and Florida are close to offering.

But he says he will remain true to his commitment to Ole Miss.

"I'm finished with recruiting. Ole Miss has stayed in touch with me for a long time. They have been loyal to me," he closed. "It was my choice out of high school and is still my choice. I can't wait to get there."
