Ole Miss lands Kendrick

Ole Miss landed its first McDonald's All-American in the history of the program Thursday. Jelan Kendrick, a former five-star recruit who signed with Memphis out of high school, will transfer to Ole Miss in January, when he can begin practicing with the team.

Head coach Andy Kennedy announced Kendrick's transfer Thursday via an official school press release. Due to NCAA transfer rules, the 6-foot-6, 200-pound Kendrick will be eligible to play in 2011, but will have to sit out until the conclusion of final exams in the Fall semester, meaning his first game will likely be close to conference play.
